Fundamental trading is when you follow the news for several countries and play the countries with strengthening economic trends, against the ones with weakening economic trends. Currencies are traded on the Foreign Exchange market, also known as Forex. This is a decentralized market that spans the globe and is considered the largest by trading volume and the most liquid worldwide. Exchange rates fluctuate continuously due to the ever changing market forces of supply and demand. Forex traders buy a currency pair if they think the exchange rate will rise and sell it if they think the opposite will happen. The Forex market remains open around the world for 24 hours a day with the exception of weekends.
The forex market is always moving. 24 hours a day, 6 days a week. Although the most active forex trading times are specific, the forex market is always moving at least a little. Depending on what you like to trade, you can pick and choose your time. Most day trading strategies revolve around forex technical analysis, which has its positive points. The market can be very technical, and if you have a sharp eye and a plan, you can catch it and take some profit from it.

Such picture changed Friday with the release of the US Nonfarm Payroll report. Ahead of it, the market was convinced that the global economic slowdown would mean easy money coming. Stocks soared, with Wall Street flirting with record highs, while safe-haven assets benefited from those fears, and government bond yields fell to multi-year lows.
